How did my budgie die?

I had 2 budgies in my cage, too young to tell the sex, and I got up in the morning and one was lying on the floor of the cage with his wings sprawled. He was still warm, and didn't have any parasites. I was thinking maybe it was a heart attack?

Your budgie is not too old to tell gender. Most budgies can be told as soon as out of nest. I think most likely respiratory infection. It really could have been anything. A heart attack is very unlikely at this age, as is a tumour.

Could have been anything. Unless the bird got a horrible fright from something I think a heart attack is unlikely in such a very young bird.

Maybe he/she was ill when you got it? Keep a close watch on your remaining bird for any signs of illness.
