Can your appendix burst without nausea / fever?
I'm a 25 year old female and for the past few days I've been having a strange pressure/tenderness in an 50 cent piece sized area about two inches right of my belly button. I've been reading websites and some say it could be appendicitis. I hope it's not -- I have no nausea or fever and the pain isn't bad, just uncomfortable. I can't afford to go to the doctor unless it's a life threatening emergency, and I'm going to get insurance on the 1st, so I dunno what to do. I'm trying to wait it out, but as time goes on and it's getting a little worse every day I'm getting scared. Any advice on what it could be? What should I do?

If it is appendicitis, you should see a doctor immediately! This very well may be a life threatening emergency. If your appendix ruptures, you can die. I am not a doctor. Read the following - I have cited the link below. P.S. the appendix is filled with massive bacteria. Appendicitis can be treated. If it ruptures, cleaning out your abdominal cavity can be very difficult and you are looking at an extensive stay in the hospital.
What is Appendicitis?
Appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix, a small pouch attached to the cecum, the beginning of the colon, on the lower right side of the abdomen. The appendix is not necessary for life, but it can become diseased. If untreated, an inflamed appendix can burst, causing infection and even death. Appendicitis can affect people at any age. It is most common in people ages 10 to 30.
The cause of appendicitis is usually unknown. It may occur after a viral infection in the digestive tract or when the opening connecting the large intestine and appendix is blocked. The inflammation can cause infection, a blood clot, or rupture of the appendix. Because of the risk of rupture, appendicitis is considered an emergency. Anyone with symptoms needs to see a doctor immediately.
Symptoms of Appendicitis
The most common symptoms of appendicitis are:
* pain in the right side of the abdomen
* nausea
* vomiting
* constipation
* diarrhea inability to pass gas
* low fever that begins after other symptoms
* abdominal swelling
* anorexia
The pain usually begins near the navel and moves down and to the right. The pain becomes worse when moving, taking deep breaths, coughing, sneezing, and being touched in the area.
Not everyone with appendicitis has all the symptoms. People with symptoms of appendicitis should not take laxatives or enemas to relieve constipation because these medicines could cause the appendix to burst. Pain medicine can mask symptoms that the doctor needs to know about, so it should not be used before consulting a doctor when appendicitis is suspected.
The doctor bases an appendicitis diagnosis on symptoms, a physical exam, blood tests to check for signs of infection such as a high white blood cell count, and urine tests to rule out a urinary tract infection. Usually doctors use CT scan or ultrasound to see whether the appendix looks inflamed.

If you had a ruptured appendix you might most probably be VERY unwell. It's infrequent to have an appendicitis and not using a fever. There are a couple of indicators that a general practitioner might appear for for the period of exam. a million) Rebound tenderness: Does it harm extra while driven or whilst you permit pass. The moment is a signal of appendix disorders. two) Peritoneal indicators: Hitting a bump within the avenue even as riding turns into excruciating. three) Obturator and Psoas indicators: Turning your correct leg out and in might expand the affliction. If you haven't any of those indicators and no fever then it is enormously not likely that you've an appendix limitation. With that mentioned, it's continually first-rate to get it looked at. You have most often purchased your self a CAT experiment of the stomach and pelvis. It's most probably a ovarian cyst, constipation, or mesenteric adenitis (now not severe) however it isn't anything to blow off.
