2 eyes - to better see the goodness around us
2 ears - for better listening that's why stereo sound was invented
2 nostrils - to better smell the roses
1 mouth - to speak less of evil
1 brain - we can't handle 2!! the clash would kill us.

We have animals in caves that have no eyes. There are animals that have no ears (snakes) and we have animals that don't have nostrils (dolphins).
Scientists have only just discovered an interesting fact about two nostrils. When you smell something, the nostrils compete to give the best information to the brain.
Two eyes, well I have an uncle who has one eye and cannot drive because he has trouble judging distance. Everything would be flat like a tv screen if we only had one eye.
Two ears come in handy when you are crossing the road. If an animal is creeping up behind you and you hear it growl, you know which side it is on behind you.

Two reasons.
1) It's the simplest natural way. Most creatures are symmetrical. You need fewer genes this way
You have one eye on each side of your head, one ear on each side, and one nostril. And the left and right side of your mouth are mirror images of each other. The brain is pretty symmetrical as well, but in reality It's not "one brain" it's "two" hemispheres. One on each side of your head. Just like with the eyes and ears and so on.
2) Directionality. If you have two ears and each one hears sound slightly differently you can tell which direction it comes from. The same with noses and smells. It's similar for eyes. Each eye sees something slightly different because they are set a little way apart. This gives you better depth perception.

well if it's creation you're taking into account then here's my answer based off of a creation theory.
The human body is so perfectly designed (especially the brain) The human body just needs every part to efficiently work.
You could always add to this question...you could say why not 3 eyes? 20 fingers? etc. It's just how we were made, and it seems to be working out pretty good so far

Two eyes - better range of sight and sense of perception
Two ears - physical balance, sound perception, hearing sounds from any audible source from all directions.
Two nostrils - depending on the kind of scent, one smells, the other breathes and vise-versa. Honest.
Other reasons: bilateral symmetry; survival -- lose one, a person still has the other.

Becaue otherwise we might look like one big scary Ogre-alien looking thingy (something like Sully in Monsters Inc)I guess what I am saying is, even though he was with all but 1 eye, at least he didn't forget his brain along the way to where he was going with a question. And by the way, think in terms of a nursery rhyme, I need mine so "I can hear You better my dear" says the wolf. Umm, So "I can see you my dear" and so "I can smell you my dear." Mmm now I am hungry.

The reasons are clearly not obvious. I would find two brains and two mouths very handy. In fact I would quite like two of everything.

nature finds it that things function more properly with two poles working.
In religion, they taught us that God gave us 2 eyes, 2 ears and 1 mouth so that we may see or hear, think and decide before saying the careful words.

you may add, 2 lungs and 2 kidneys. our brain has 2 sides, the right and the left.
our existence all started with one single cell, which then divided into two. from thereon, cells divide and multiply symmetrically, so we have two of everything, one from each side. even if we have one mouth, our teeth are symmetrical on each side. our heart has left and right cavities.
hope this satisfies your curiosity.

In my opinion it could be one of two things. So that if one stops working we have another, or just because symmetry looks nice
