"Dark as a Dungeon" by Merle Travis.
Travis grew up in western Kentucky and wrote a number of songs about coal mining (including "Sixteen Tons," the biggest hit of Tennessee Ernie Ford's career). I spent a horrible six months living in western Kentucky when I was a teenager and saw firsthand what Travis sang about in that song.
"Like a fiend with his dope and a drunkard his wine, a man will have lust for the lure of the mine." People who were in school with me didn't care a thing about studying and getting an education. They were just biding time until they could drop out and follow daddy into the mines.
Tragic.

Every time I hear Live Like You Were Dyin' by Tim McGraw, I always remember riding in the back seat of my dad's truck. We were at a state park, and it was on the radio, and it was one of the few times I got to see my great uncle since we moved. I was in the fourth grade, and I remember wondering if my uncle would actually like this song, since it was my absolute favorite. He died 2 years later, and every time I hear that song, I remember sitting in that truck, and the awesome day we had together.

Bring it on Home by Little Big Town. My husband and I danced to it at our wedding because it describes our relationship perfectly.
