why does my popcorn seem like it "melts" when i add the butter.?

the popcorn gets soggy. is the butter too hot? i use margarine..could it be too much water content in the product?

    Sometimes popcorn needs to dry out before adding butter. Some people put the cooked popcorn into a warm oven for a few minutes and THEN add the butter!

    don't heat the butter more than 120 degrees.....put in a large bowl put in a little and toss...use real butter the reason is you body can process it with no trouble if you use margarine or other butter subs it will just put it in the fat stores...just trying to help I hope you don't take my information the wrong way

    let both the popcorn and the butter cool off for a little while before mixing

    let butter cool. I melt it before I pop the corn and put the melted butter in freezer while I pop the corn. It usually cools off enough by then.
