I lost my debit card. Help!?
Hi, thanks for opening this question. So I went to ATM Machine 4 in the Morning in Saturday and deposited some money. When I checked my wallet later that day around 4 P.Mish, I found out I've lost my debit card. And to make matter worse, I purchased a sunglasses through online Friday afternoon.
I always think of the worst case and I am guessing I might have dropped the card or somebody has picked it up. If this is true and I suspend my account, what will happen to the amount of money I have paid for which hasn't left my account yet? As always, I will award the best answer with a dime. Thanks for your time and have a great day.
If I found it out before 5 P.M saturday, I would have reported it to the bank immidiately. Oh and bank is closed on Sunday so soonest I can report is Monday 9 AM. By the way nobody has used my money yet which leads me to believe that ATM Machine just ate it but you never know.

Report it lost to the bank and tell them the last transactions you made. The Friday purchase may have already been autho'd and/or settled.
It should be no big deal to clear these transactions for you and get you a new card in 7 business days.

I Think the only thing you can do is call the bank and tell them yur debit card was lost so that you can get a new one !!! you may have to cancel the account you have now or get a new account number just to be on the safe side in case someone has your card or found your card and will or are going to try and use it !!!

The first thing to do is report it to the bank then make preparations to get a new card, this can be done in a few days.

Your liability under federal law for unauthorized use of your ATM or debit card depends on how quickly you report the loss. If you report an ATM or debit card missing before it's used without your permission, the EFTA says the card issuer cannot hold you responsible for any unauthorized transfers. If unauthorized use occurs before you report it, your liability under federal law depends on how quickly you report the loss.

Hey peace, debit cards--unlike ATM cards--can be used in offline, signature transactions, which includes (somewhat counterintuitively) internet purchases. So the PIN doesn't protect you all that much.

For future reference all banks after hours have 24hr customer support for lost/stolen cards.(the same goes for cellphone carriers)
Your card had a pin number so unless you wrote the number on the card-duh- you be o.k.

You'll be fine, just call your bank and discuss it with them, this stuff happens all the time.
