I was charged with domestic battery, and my side was ignored. What should I do?

I got into an argument with my ex-girlfriend a few days after breaking up with her. She treated me like crap and I was the person who stood their for her through the good and bad, even when both of our families advised me not to. The argument started over something I felt was so small it wasn't worth the subject of the conversation, I reached over to pick up her phone to explain an example of the issue. She then took a car cd player and hit me with it, and in defense I pushed her away from me. My hands and wrist were badly cut open from when she hit me, she only had 2 light bruises from me pushing her away. The cops didn't even pay attention to what really happened, and arrested me, they just listened to the story she told them which she said nothing about hitting me first for no reason. What should I do to get this corrected? I have a court date should I have the lawyer bring it up? Would the charges be thrown out? I have no criminal record until now.

Get a lawyer. Listen to your lawyer. Make certain that you have photographs of your injuries.

It is very likely that the prosecutor's office will decline to prosecute this case - considering that your injuries are much more severe than hers.

I sincerely hope that you will stay the heck away from this gal in the future. Because you will ALWAYS have this arrest on your record. (This does not mean that it will appear during any background investigations for future jobs. But it will appear any time an NCIC check is done on you. And ten or twenty years from now, if you find yourself in a custody battle over your children, I can guarantee that this arrest will be used to against you.)

i believe so long as you're prematurely & sincere approximately the main issue they're going to realise. i believe it's whilst you attempt to cover it or no longer allow them to recognise approximately it & then they uncover it on your history assess that's in case you have the predicament. if want be probably have your sister write a letter or anything like that. i do not believe it could be regarded a home factor except there's a file that they may be able to seem at announcing it was once home within the file. wish this is helping. :)

If what you said is true, then a good lawyer should be able to get you off.
