Is my sound card going bad?

When watching videos or playing music on my desktop with integrated sound, the audio has some intermittent crackling and the audio gets distorted like it's trying to catch back up. I checked the connection in, tested the speakers on another computer, and tried several different types of media all with the same issue. I also looked for updated drivers and there were none. Is my sound card going bad?

The next few things I was going to try was re-installing the drivers and cleaning out the case. Any other ideas before I go purchase a separate sound card?

If everything you plug into that integrated sound jack sounds like garbage...then it's most likely your onboard sound. Buy a cheap one on ebay and pop it in.

you're saying you have a sound card. attempt plugging your audio device into your intergrated speaker plug. then bypass and receive the drivers on your soundcard from the producer. which you ought to have the drivers for besides. yet first you shpuld do away with the virus.

I have an idea... Dip the dang thing in hydrochloric acid and throw it into a very deep hole because that thing is junk. Sound cards shouldn't be expensive.
