Should Moslem Taxi Drivers and Bus Drivers be allowed to refuse service if a seeing-eye dog is involved?
Attached is an unbelievable story about a man denied entry to a public bus because the bus driver and/or moslem passengers have religious aversions to dogs.
We've had this same problem here in DC, where moslem taxi drivers have refused service to people with seeing eye dogs.
I maintain that if they are not able to serve the ENTIRE public then they should not be allowed to hold that job.
And if passengers have such an aversion to the dog, then it is THEY who can get off and wait until the next bus.
Such actions must NOT be allowed to continue!

Regardless of the validity of this source, this is a problem both in the US and the UK. I don't know the details of the law in the UK, but in the US, it is not legal to deny access to a disabled handler with any service animal, not just guide dogs. What some people fail to realize is that the disabled people need their service animal to attempt to function normally. I understand that they have a religious object to dogs, however, we don't allow people to discriminate against others based on their religious beliefs. For example, a catholic business owner can not kick out a customer because they think they are homosexual. A Muslim may not refuse access to "infidels". It is the same with service animals, and that is how it should be.

If this is a true story which you cann't always trust from tabloids then not they shouldn't be allowed to refuse services dog . I don't care what religion you are services dogs and there owners should be allowed on all buses and taxis and if the driver does like it or want to then he should find another job. These dogs give there owners the freedom to go out and about in safety. The bus compaines and taxi companies who employ these drivers need to sit there member of staff down and tell them either they accept service dogs or give them there cards. We as people can choose what religious we are but the people with the disablity can't.

No
American with Disabilities Act trumps religious rules.
You can't handle that, get a job that doesn't require a license.
I'm sure Ron Paul thinks the blind guy should be kicked off the bus.

No.
Unless they're going to provide a seeing eye donkey to the blind they should not be allowed to refuse a seeing eye dog. If a driver refuses to do their job they should be fired.

Had I of witnessed this I would have been arrested for assault.Who the f*ck do they think they are?The a hole bus driver needs to be sacked immediately, Im am so sick of these people dictating their pathetic "religious" views on us. If you cant deal with alcohol, dont get a job in Threshers.

That is terrible if they do not want to deal with the public then they should loose their job and find another way to make a living. That is public transportation and should not be discriminated against.
They should get a fine and be fired.

Thats just wrong. If their religion won't allow them around dogs they shouldn't take a job where a dog might be. My husband is muslim and he used to own a dog so this sounds like BS to me.

I actually thought this was a serious question until I read where the link would take me, to a divisive rag that will print any butchered story to fit its anti islamic stance, though to answer the question it is obviously no, it should not happen and I have no doubt that it did not happen.
