tuberous breast deformity?

I was told that I have a tuberous breast deformity. With that being said, if I were to have a breast augmentation would that correct it? Could I have either saline or cohesive gel implants?

Lucy, first of all I'd prefer to not say "deformity". You have tuberous breasts, or so you've been told. WHO told you this, Lucy, was it your doctor or a health care professional?

Yes, a plastic surgeon can improve your breasts. You'd really need to have a consult with a plastics practitioner to get your best options. I haven't examined you and can't hazard a guess as to what would be your best or your possible options.

I've recently been to speak to a breast specialist nurse at the hospital about my options as the Primary Care Trust fund won't allow me to have breast surgery on the NHS until I'm 21..

I have been diagnosed with tuberous breast deformity/breast hypoplasia...

much to my extreme disappointment and upset, the nurse who I spoke to last week- we ran through some options and she mentioned that when I do eventually have breast augmentation, she said something along the lines of this procedure -

"In the most severe cases of tubular breast, a breast lift can be done through an incision around the areola, making the breast into a more rounded shape that the patient will be happy with. In many cases however, a lift is not necessary. The patient should be aware that the final result will take months to see and that they will need to be patient.

    The Surgical Procedure

The surgery is usually done under a light general anesthesia and the procedure takes about two to three hours. The incision is usually confined to around the nipple entirely or beneath the crease, and can be very inconspicuous. The procedure involves making internal incisions to release the tight breast tissues, making a larger space for an implant, rounding out the lower breast crease, and correcting enlarged and protruding areola.

Placing a breast implant underneath the breast and pectoralis muscle, along with making small incisions on the inside of the breast will usually allow this tight skin to spread into a better shape. This process can take a few months but usually results in a very pleasing shape without the telltale scars of a breast lift."

Its a better way to correct our breast 'deformity' as its a gradual process, as with breast hypoplasia there is a lot of restriction on the chest area so it the process has to be done slowly to allow growth.

I'm not sure what they would use exactly, but I know it would or should be a different procedure than what someone with 'normal' boobs would have done if they were just getting them enlarged or something.

    Good luck. x

It's NOT a "deformity". They just are different. Nice and sexy but a bit different: nothing wrong with them: they're much more fascinating to look at than "regular" breasts. Many guys like them.

You need to talk to your Ob/Gyn and get her opinion about what plastic surgeon she recommends. That is a question that only a surgeon who has your body in front of him can answer.
