I worked in retail for ten years. In many management positions and worked in different areas.

    I can tell you this............

We did bacteria tests on all the shopping carts, by taking swabs and having them tests for what type of bacteria they contained on the sides of the carts, inside and underneath.

When the tests came back we found, human faeces, rat faeces, rotten food etc in the inside of the shopping carts. Invisible to the eye. But ultimately present by the swabs we had taken.

The cashier picking their nose is the least of a customers worry. Its actually quite petty to complain about it considering the customers ignorance in not acknowledging the very shopping cart they place their food into is contaminated with the worst kind of bacteria you will find anywhere.

Just a tip........never put unwrapped fruit or vegetables into your shopping cart. Always place it in a bag, then into the cart. At least it has protection of some sort.

Offer them a kleenex -this will politely remind them that they accept money for serving the public (and by serving, I don't mean boogers) and that this type of behavior is unacceptable.

I wouldn't go to that cash register. When I got home, I would call the manager and let them know.

    Laugh quietly to myself.
