I enjoyed this because I can relate. I may have tripped over the threshold, but I don't consider I fell the wrong way.

Okay, then I'll 'just' reformat it:

I stood in the doorway

of guilt and forgiveness;

not knowing

which way to turn,

I tripped

over the threshold

and fell

the wrong way.
