will a 89 dakota v6 pull a boat?

My grandmother is giving me my grandfathers 89 v6 dakota, and i need to know if it will pull a 14 ft aluminum jon boat and a 20.5 fiberglass center console edgewater (dry wt 3500 lbs). i need to be able to pull the jon boat at about 25 mph normally but will need to do 60-65 occasionally. i shouldn't have to pull the edgewater at more than 40mph for about 2 miles. i need to be able to get them in and out the water and on neighborhood road.

it will pull it but now you,ll have problems from it getting it in and out of a ramp to launch the boat from,it won't get no traction to pull the boat out with, dry ground you,ll be fine with it,just make sure you allow extra stopping distance because i know how much a 20 ft fiber glass boat weighs,i pulled my 18 foot pontoon boat with mine before, but getting them stopped is another story, good luck

Sure that pu has all the power you should need as long as you have the right hitch. U-hall can set all of that for you.

no, that 3.9 liter v6 barely pulls itself let alone a boat
