I'm making chili, can I sub great northern beans?

I'm making regular chili, not white chili or anything and I only have one can of kidney beans. I need two cans of beans for the amount I need to make. Can I stick great northern beans in there too? Will that taste okay?

It would turn out more like bean soup..Northern beans are white and have a totally different flavor than kidney..I wouldn't add them.

don t over cook the white beans is the main concern or else the consistency of the chili becomes soup, also soak white beans really well and extract the outer skin from the bean, if left in they alter the taste of the dish and turn it pastey

Yes, i always do since i hate kidney beans. i either use pinto or great northerns, and it's fine.

Certainly, it will be just fine. And a bit interesting with the two different types of beans
