Start with learning chords; you already know them on the guitar, just learn how to play them on the piano, and learn the chord inversions. You can get books and teach yourself. Go to a music store and tell them what you want.

Do try to get lessons before anything else.
What to work on:
The different positions of hands
Scales
Making the transition from Bass to Treble Clef (I play both, switching back and forth takes practice)
The use of both hands at the same time
Most of all practice! It's the only thing that will make you better. Best of luck and I hope to see your name in lights.

Start with Bach two part inventions. Practice each part separately then put them together. Work up to three part inventions. Not only does it teach you piano but they are great harmony lessons too.
