Will this adapter work?

I am trying to hook up a compaq pc to an xbox 360 by using a TRENDnet TU-ET100C USB to Fast Ethernet Adapter, and I am wanting to know if I plug this into the USB in the pc, will it work?

Update:

I have a router connected to a different pc in the living room and then I have a separate router at the other end of the house, I just got my sisters computer and I am going to run an Ethernet cable up her wall to my room upstairs and i am trying to get an Internet connection in both the xbox and pc. Also does it work if I use a composite Ethernet cable to connect them?

    No,you will need a router which you will then plug your broadband modem,xbox 360,and computer into.
