The only way to make it lighter now would be to bleach it. Probably best to ask a hairdresser, they could probably bleach it and make it deep purple in one go.

Puple is lighter than black. Black is the darkest colour there is. Therefore you cannot put any other colour on top of black.

You will have to lighten your hair before you can put any other colour on it.

A hairdresser might be able to bleach the black dye out, but you are ruining the texture of you hair with all these treatments. To be kind to your hair, you should just let the black grow out naturally.

Go to the hairdressers, cz it sounds like the only way to strip dark colours is to bleach it, then re-dye the hair the colour you want later. Black is awful to get out when you don't want it, but seriously, go to the hairdressers, cz when i tried to dye my dark hair lighter at home it went orange. X

i did the same i went to a hair dresser and they stripped the colour out with a bleach wash its basically the same stuff you would use to streak your hair it goes a little orange but if your putting a darker colour in after its perfect

You could use this stuff, makes your hair colour shade lighter by removing all the deposits of dye and other stuff like chemicals and things.

    Also use Chamomile cream

bleach it but it won't come out to light at first it's usually a nasty copper color :( you have to do it in stages sadly
