remove rust from front rotor on motorcycle - prevention?
my bike is just a year old....noticed light rust/dust forming on the rotor(front) i keep it parked in the garage too.
I know riding it will remove rust and maybe some "damp rid" in the garage will help - any other suggestions?

Just go for a ride and it will remove the rust. Do not apply anything to the disc rotors

I have a 1997 Rf900 that stays outside. there's always some rust on the rotors but not enough to actuallly feel. I ride every 2-3 weeks just for the carbs sake. The rust comes off easily.
I wouldnt worry about it as much as dry rot in the tires or the rubber drying in the grips ,etc.I put tire shine on the bike AFTER each use ,so it sits for 2 wks., and it still looks good.

Clean it off with emery paper form a hard ware shop.Rust eats metal gives you pitting.
