2005 Silverado Blower Motor & Resistor?

My fan stopped and after checking I found the blower motor resistor connection was burnt. I replaced the blower motor resistor and installed a new connector. Now the blower motor will only operate on speeds 1 to 4, and the fan shuts off when speed 5 is selected. Any ideas?

Update:

I do not think there are 2 relays or resistors. I can only find one and all other information indicates there is only one resistor.

Kent, you're right there is only one resistor

What you do have is an open( BLWR 40amp ) fuse in the under-hood fuse box. this fuse provides direct power to your blower motor for high speed only.

You can double check this by checking for power at the red wire going to the blower motor.place the fan at #5 and check for power, if no power replace the fuse.

If I remember correctly, it's a green (J case) fuse.

    Good luck
