XP Disk Management: write cache or quick remove?
Just got a new eSata HDD and ExpressCard. I want to shut off without "Safely Remove" and learned I can set the "Policy" in XP Disk Management for that. But that disables Optimizing and Write Caching which are supposed to improve performance. I can't really tell from first use how much performance impact there is.
It seems that if there is 3 gigabytes of bandwidth for the eSata connection the effect of disabling write caching shouldn't be too much, but I would appreciate an informed answer - after all, I got the eSata for the speed. Thanks.

I'd say that the write cache likely won't do much, unless your computer's a slow system, as the disk is plenty fast in and of itself - there's little reason to think that the cache is of much use there.
