My husband is experiencing a horrible lag while we're playing Diablo 2 LOD using Windows 7...Advice please?
He just purchased a beautiful Gateway computer that seems to have issues supporting Diablo 2 Lod, due to its' operating system being Windows 7.
We have yet to defrag the system, however have adjusted the resolution and all necessary compatibility issues best to our knowledge.
The lag does not just occur when him and I play online in one anothers' party, but during a solo campaign as well.
Any suggestions regarding this lag would be most appreciated, thank you.
I'm sure the issue cannot be the ram...but the laptop is newer...so I question the video card but thanks.

Don't blame the operating system. It's the hardware that's incapable of playing it. Defragging won't help. All that does is organize the data on the hard drive to help speed up data transfer rates and reduce wear on the hard drive.
Just because a computer is new doesn't mean it's capable of doing everything you can throw at it. Your computer will have to be suited for what its intended purpose is.
Most likely, it doesn't have a video card suitable for gaming. It probably doesn't even have a video card, and the video is integrated into the motherboard. What this means is that it was never designed to play games.
However, you can upgrade the video on it. Research video cards and find one that is suitable for playing games.
