Team Rookie of the Year Awardees vs MVP players? Who would win? Who would you root for?

I divided each team with players who won regular season MVP but didn't get the rookie of the year in their rookie season, against Rookie of the Year awardees. Here are the lineups:

TEAM ROY STARTERS

C - Wilt Chamberlain

PF - Tim Duncan

SF - Larry Bird

SG - Michael Jordan

PG - Oscar Robertson

Reserves

C - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

C - Shaquille O'Neal

PF - Pau Gasol

SF - LeBron James

SF - Elgin Baylor

SG - Allen Iverson

PG - Jason Kidd

TEAM MVP STARTERS

C - Bill Russell

PF - Karl Malone

SF/SG - Julius Erving

SG - Kobe Bryant

PG - Magic Johnson

Reserves

C - Moses Malone

C - Hakeem Olajuwon

PF - Kevin Garnett

PF - Charles Bakley

SF - Dirk Nowitzki

PG - Bob Cousy

PG - Steve Nash

As you may notice that there are a lot of Rookie of the Year players who deserves more to be on that lineup on some other players like David Robinson, Patrick Ewing and Rick Barry. They are better players than let's say Pau Gasol and LeBron James, but I intentionally exclude them since both The Admiral and Ewing are centers, and Team ROY is already stacked with more talented ones, and the Team ROY is lacking in power forwards so I put Gasol in there. In the case of Rick Barry, only few users here knew him well so I left him in favor of James.

As for Team MVP, you may notice that Dr. J's position is either shooting guard and small forward. I only insert him as a SG since only Kobe Bryant who is the legitimate SG in their team.

Other notable names (with the year they won the award and their team) excluded in both teams:

Team ROY

1985-86 Patrick Ewing New York

1965-66 Rick Barry San Francisco

2006-07 Brandon Roy Portland

1989-90 David Robinson San Antonio

2007-08 Kevin Durant Seattle

2005-06 Chris Paul New Orleans/Oklahoma City

1993-94 Chris Webber Golden State

Team MVP

1977-78 Bill Walton Portland

Thanks in advance!

Holy... you did a great and awesome job on this...

I'm going to go with the MVP Starters, all because of Wilt Chamberlain, I have a little problem with him, he is not a very good teammate and only cares about stats while in the MVP starters you have the great Bill Russel who is a great teammate. Also with Magic in there it just like Stockton to Malone only you have a better PG.

Team MVP has a lot of unselfish people and that would be a great team.

Team ROY is also good, but the chemestry is something you need to look at.

Team MVP over Team ROY 200-187, there going to score a lot of points, lol.

I would root for Team MVP for the same reason of Bill Russel, Magic, Nash a lot of great unselfish player out there.

    Iam taking team MVP

Bill plays great D on wilt who

Malone and duncan would be a good match up with tim coming out on top

Then bird gets the best of his match up

    Jordan<Kobe

    Magic would edge out oscar

The key match ups with the back ups would be who could check LBJ but charles played some SF before so i would not worry to much about that

I believe AI would shot jack his team into a hole

And the hekeem vs shaq match up would also be big who can keep the other from dominating on the boards and defense

I would root for TEAM MVP simply beacause two of my all time favorites hakeem and magic

MVP: LeBron James (ultimate participant by making use of a few distance on the final group) Rookie: Derrick Rose (having ultimate statistical 300 and sixty 5 days) protection: Dwight Howard (extensive presence and stats at shielding end of floor)

Team ROY...Shaq/Kareem off the bench. I'd go with them.

Honestly both teams are so stacked it's ridiculous...either team could win.
