The Answer is ABSOLUTELY! Check out the JaneNYC hotel. It provides small (like on a cruise ship) but very clean rooms. The rate is just $99! Also there are tons and tons of hostels in nyc (check out http://www.nyc-visitor-discounts.com)/ in which you can stay for as low at $15 to $20 a night! Additionally, you will find lots of reasonable priced hotels too. But the Jane might be your best bet!

There are plenty hotel rooms for around $100 a night. However, their not in Manhattan, their in Long Island City, Queens.
You can try the Best Western Plaza Hotel, which will 39-34 21St Street. Rooms there start at about $108 a night, which lowest available.
You can also try the La Quinta Inn Queens (New York City), which is located at 37-18 Queens Blvd. Rooms there start at about $125 a night.
Both hotel are located within walking distance to the subway.
Good luck

What you got against the Bronx? It's not as bad as you think, I go to college there. You won't find anything in Manhattan for under $100 per night.

You can't stay anywhere in New York for around $100. You can find some places around $150. However, 5 people in a regular room is prohibited by New York City Fire Code.

go to couchsurfing.com maybe you could find someone to let you stay with them for free. I doubt you'll find a place for $100 a night. but maybe you could take your possible hosts out for a snack or something.
