Should tax on entertainers be more than on public servants?

If all the Hollywood types and sports figures pay 70% of their income, wouldn't that help California get out of debt? Maybe we should tack on another 20% if they own property outside the USA?

More people would volunteer for public service, like police and firefighters, if they were taxed less, wouldn't they? Also they put their lives on the line for us everyday, this would be a small compensation for that.

I am sure that there are many more public servants than entertainers. So the total tax on public servants probably greatly exceeds that paid by entertainers. Indeed there is no need to treat the entertainers unfairly. The only fat cats worth taxing are the ones whose income is unearned, namely land value speculatore and holders of this bounty and opportunity out of use.

Most people would risk their lives for a few more percentages saved in taxes.

And they do, in most departments, get some more benefits than some of us do.

Like more vacation time due to stress or job injuries, and insurance and pensions.

I don't think entertainers and sports figures should have to pay more than any other rich CEO or CFO, it should always be based on amount not job category.

I can't see how you could tax items bought in another country and not brought into ours. Thats not how we do things, we have no jurisdiction overseas in any other area, it would be tough to make a case for this exception, they don't even have to share real estate deals with us, or purchases now.

Tax on (successful) entertainers IS more than on public servants; America uses a progressive tax system whereby tax rates increase on higher earnings.

entertainers should not be taxed, there shouldnt be such a thing as a public servant. no one should be forced to pay money for something they dont want to use.
