you need to get all of them to squareroot 2:

when factoring a radical, you need to break it down into its components:

    ex. sqrt50 = sqrt25 * sqrt 2...50=25*2

you can simplify the sqrt25 part of the equation. this gives sqrt50 = 5sqrt2.

    similarly, 2 sqrt 18 = 2(sqrt9 * sqrt2)

    = 2(3 sqrt2)

    = 6sqrt2.

    7sqrt2 + 5sqrt2 - 2(3sqrt2)

    =7sqrt2 + 5sqrt2 - 6sqrt2.

    6sqrt2 is the answer.
