For a live package do I need a Power Amp or can I go from the mixer to the speakers?

I'm just using guitar amps, microphones, a mixer and PA Speakers. Do I need to spend another 400 on a Power Amp? We're just trying to be heard over the drums.

Unless you have a powered mixer or powered speakers you will need a power amp. If you have any monitor speakers , which you will need so you can hear the vocals on stage, you will need a power amp for those too.

A mixer has NO power in it, so unless you have "powered speakers" you will need the amp.
