    You can do this with the calculator on your computer. 5% is 0.05. Multiply that times $23,600 to find out the raise amount and add it to the original salary. In other words, 5% raise is 105% of the original salary. Multiply 105% (or 1.05) times the original salary.

    Do your own math, 10% is easy then take half that and add it to the old number.
