High School Swim Diets?
Im a high School Sophomore and Im swimming again this year. Last year I didnt diet correctly, and I think my times may have been a little bigger than I may have wanted. This year i want to take it up a step and get a bit more serious. I need to know what a good diet is for High school swimmers during season.

Im a sophomore swimmer too, i eat tons of carbs and make sure it eat about 1000 calories more than you burn if you're at an ideal weight. salads, grilled food, pasta, bread, beans, fish, and cereals are great. do good this year!

You say you live near the ocean, the ocean is a great place for swimming if you can't easily get to a pool. If there are some waves it can really add to the intensity of your session. Pick some points on the beach as landmarks -trees that stand out, houses, buildings etc and swim between them you can pace out the approximate distance by walking along the beach and then you'll know how far you're swimming. In terms of diet you need protein to build muscles, but you have to be doing the exercise for your body to actually use the protein, if you're eating a high protein diet and not doing significant exercise then its a waste of time. You can get protein out of meat, eggs, legumes etc. At the end of the day the key point is that if you want to improve by november you need to be doing some form of exercise at least once a day whether that being running, swimming or whatever.

well im no expert. but i'll tell you what i'd do. i'd eat something lite but filling that is healthy too. like for breakfast i'd eat a bagel or some cheerios with fresh fruit in it. and for lunch maybe a sandwich or pasta. for dinner some grilled chicken or a salad. why don't you google it and see what comes up. good luck hope this helps
