Intel HD graphics vs. Graphics card?

The new intel core processors that have the intel hd graphics don't need a graphics card ( to my understanding). Is it just a good as a graphics card?

Intel HD graphics is a graphics card, it's just known as an integrated graphics card for the intel core processors. Usually, integrated graphics card suck compared to dedicated ones. However, Intel HD graphics is actually pretty decent and is by far the best integrated graphics card that intel has made. It won't work wonders but it'll hold up its own in many tasks and games. However, if you're planning on doing hardcore gaming or something like that, then you'd want a better graphics card than the Intel HD graphics.

    For gaming? no.

if you're not planning on doing anything graphics-intensive, then you won't notice a difference.
