Do nightclubs in Tokyo card?

I'm not Japanese, so, often, they think I'm over twenty anyway, but do they want to see ID when entering a club or buying drinks?

I've been to clubs in Shibuya and Roppongi and they were carding everyone at the door.

In restaurants, and izakayas on the other hand, they rarely card (in fact I've never seen it) when serving alcohol.

Roppongi is the terrific place for gaijin and eastern golf equipment. maximum places value approximately 2000 yen and a needed drink. whilst my friends from the U. S. and Europe come to Tokyo we many times bonce between Wall highway, Motown, the Salsa club and multiple places alongside Roppongi Doori. The action relies upon on what night of the week that's. it is user-friendly to blow 10,000 yen in an hour or so.

At the clubs in Roppungi which is the bar district they always card at the door.

Depends on the bar and also the more foreign you look the less likely they are to card you.

rarely but it does happens - especially if you look really young.

If you are concerned this will happen, hover by the entrance and tag along a group that is entering.
