Are there any atheist homophobes?
Or is homophobia entirely occupied by the religious masses?

Homophobia crosses well into the secular society we live in. I know there are those who would like to think that it is limited to the bible thumping masses, but I have personally met many people in all walks of life who are either homophobic or homoinfestus (hostile towards homosexuals).
For some it stems from a negative experience with someone who was homosexual, for others the arrogance to believe that all gays of their gender would like to have sex with them, some because of ignorance, some believe it a perversion, and others because they just think it's "icky" or are in denial about their own attractions.
The bottom line is phobia, a true phobia, is wide spread and not limited to a single group. Otherwise it is a bigotry.
Hope this helps.

Yes there are plenty of homophobic atheists. My father, for one!
Likewise, there are plenty of religious people who are not homophobes. For example, the Quakers, the Episcopalians, most Lutherans, many European and Reformed Catholic churches, etc.
The truth is that religion has nothing to do with homophobia. It's just that in the US, homophobic and socially conservative Evangelicals are loud.

Atheists tend to look at things logically so there aren't as many atheist homophobes, but they are out there.
I think quite often (certain interpretations of) religion results from homophobia rather than vice versa.

Religious masses = homophobic masses
most atheists in USA are free of sexual phobias

That relies upon on whether the theist makes use of the e book as an excuse or relatively believes that via fact the books says it, it must be actual. nonetheless, i think of all 3 forms of folk are abomination (to borrow a word).
