Hi! So I'm a total sucker for romance novels, and these are some of my favorites:

Lets see...you like ghost stories? I recommend A Certain Slant of Light by Lauren Whitcomb.

Fairies? Maybe you'll like the Tattoo Faeries series by Melissa Marr.

Or maybe fallen angels? Check out Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. It's awesome! It's my favorite book of the year. It's full of mystery from the first page 'til the end. Or maybe Fallen by Lauren Kate, it's good too.

Do you like werewolves? I recommend Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

Are you into spies and secret agents? Read The Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter.

PS, You can check out the authors' websites for more information.

    ------

    Three of my favorite books:

    1) HUSH, HUSH by Becca Fitzpatrick: This book is full of mystery from the first page 'til the end! It's about fallen angels, but don't worry, it's anything but religious.

    2) THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins: This one is packed with action. Not to mention, EVERY single chapter ends with a cliffhanger so you won't be able to stop reading. I know I wasn't.

    3) STOLEN by Lucy Christopher:

Summary: "Sixteen year old Gemma is kidnapped from Bangkok airport and taken to the Australian Outback. This wild and desolate landscape becomes almost a character in the book, so vividly is it described. Ty, her captor, is no stereotype. He is young, fit and completely gorgeous. This new life in the wilderness has been years in the planning. He loves only her, wants only her. Under the hot glare of the Australian sun, cut off from the world outside, can the force of his love make Gemma love him back? The story takes the form of a letter, written by Gemma to Ty, reflecting on those strange and disturbing months in the outback. Months when the lines between love and obsession, and love and dependency, blur until they don't exist - almost."

I just started reading this book and it's just PERFECT, really. Seriously, you'll LOVE this novel. It's written in the form of a letter from Gemma to her captor, Ty. This one will pull you in from the first paragraph:

"You saw me before I saw you. In the airport, that day in August, you had that look in your eyes, as though you wanted something from me, as though you'd wanted it for a long time. No one had ever looked at me like that before, with that kind of intensity. It unsettled me, surprised me I guess. Those blue, blue eyes, icy blue, looking back at me as if I could warm them up. They're pretty powerful, you know, those eyes, pretty beautiful too. You blinked quickly when I looked at you, and turned away, as if you were nervous . . . as if you felt guilty because you'd just been checking out some random girl in an airport. But I wasn't random, was I? And it was a good act. I fell for it. It's funny, but I always thought I could trust blue eyes. I thought they were safe somehow. All the good guys have baby blues. The dark eyes are for the villains . . . the Grim Reaper, the Joker, zombies. All dark."

Anyway, hope I helped and happy reading!

Does Adan V mean The House of the Scorpion, by Nancy Farmer? It's SciFi, so not really "real life," but it's VERY good, and the main character definitely goes through some trying ordeals - prejudice, betrayal, people trying to kill him, those kind of things. It deals with some big issues, too. The books you said you like are all for adults, and this is YA, so you might not like it, but the only difference, when it comes to this particular book, is that there isn't swearing or dirty stuff and the book mostly focuses on the main character's adolescence, with some childhood and no adult years.

You need to read Lord of the Rings! It's my favorite! It should pose as a bit of a challenge, becasue Tolkien (the author) does have tendencies to be a bit wordy, but his discriptions are beautiful, and the dialogue is fun. The characters are diverse, and overall the book is amazing. If you have seen the movie, I recommend that too.

    Other books:

    Sense and Sensibility--Jane Austen

    Everything is Illuminated--Johnathon Safran Foer

    Much Ado About Nothing--Shakespeare

    Treasure Island--Robert Louis Stevenson

Peter Pan--J. M. Barrie (the original classic)

Alice in Wonderland--Lewis Caroll (Also, make sure you read the original unabridged version)

    Sherlocke Holmes--Sir Arthor Doyle

    ...thelist goes on and on
