It would require massive reconfiguration and modification of the internal frame or chassis and probably the cabinet itself, plus all of the controlling circuitry. It would be an interesting challenge for a very experienced TV/electronics hobbyist who has a lot of time and money.

Yes and no. I would not recommend this to anyone who does not have any back ground in repairing tvs. Beside that it will not be cost effective if you can find the right configuration. In which the manufacturer will not be willing to share with anyone. With the price of LCD tv dropping all the time, just buy a new one. Hope this will help you out.

It would not be cost effective to even try and do so. Just buy a LED TV.

You don't. You'd need to buy an LED-backlit TV, as the changes are way too massive to accomplish yourself. If it is one of the "local-dimming" LED systems, it would be impossible for you to do it, as massive circuitry changes would be required.

    IT'S NOT A SOFTWARE ISSUE IT'S A PHYSICAL ONE.

WHAT THE OTHERS ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU IS THAT YOU'D NEED TO BE ABLE TO DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE TELEVISIONS.

A LCD TV EITHER HAS A FLORESCENT OR AN LED BACK LIGHT (AT THIS TIME).
