Need help with Modem / Router issues?
Recently my connection has been dropping at random frequent intervals. I can stay connected for 4-5 hours sometimes, but most of the time I lose it every 5 - 10 minutes.
Did some browsing on the web, and noticed both my router and modem are a bit outdated.
Only have $$ to upgrade one right now.
Have had both for about a year.
Modem : Scientific Atlanta Webstar DPX2213
Router : SMC8014W-G
ISP : Rogers
Any help would be appreciated.

Unlikely that that's your problem. If your modem is sufficiently DOCSIS compliant (your ISP can tell you) then it's good enough. If you keep dropping, you need to contact your ISP tech support and have them look at the stats in your modem to see if there a problems such as a bad signal:noise ratio or a problem on their end.
