HELP my leopard gecko's eye has no pupil and is losing spots?!?

a few days ago i noticed my leopard gecko wasnt eating all of his mealworms i feed him . so i tried dropping them right in front of his face, and its like he doesnt even notice. like he ususally will turn his head and look at them and then go to eat them, but now he has no reaction whatsoever. (his tail is still fat though). then i noticed hes like squinting. and when you look closely, HE HAS NO PUPIL. well at least you cant see it. its just blackness. it was never like that before, i could always see his pupil. now theres nothing! also it seems like hes losing the spots on his body! (FYI, ive veen feeding him only mealworms for about two months now, is that bad?) what should i do !?!?

Update:

ps. hes only about a year or maybe less.

& where i bought him from said he was just a regular leopard gecko. not super or anything. im going to take him to the vet. but still, any advice until i can get to the vet? ive been spraying water on his face to get his eyes hydrated is that good

unfortunately the same happened to my male gecko.

my male gecko was scratched in the eye by one of the females and then he was always getting eye infections. every time i got rid of the infection another one came up. his eyes are always closed aswell.

if it is the same as what happened to my leo then im sorry its already too late. dont worry he wont die but in the next day or so the eye may shift to the side and then fall out. if you had of noticed the problem erlier then you could have saved the eye but now not even eye drops will work.

keep a very close eye on the geckos eye and if it moves to the side then that will be the sign that it is going to fall out. after it falls out the eyelids will glue themselves together.

my gecko still manages but sometimes struggles to get food.

also you should not be feeding mealworms to your gecko as a main diet as they are hard to digest.

feed your gecko crickets (black and grey), cockroaches, and other small bugs. before feeding the insects you should gut load them with food eg veg, then dust them with a calcium/vitamin D3 supplement by placing the insects in a plastic bag or jar with the supplement and shake so that the powder clings to the insect. if you are feeding your gecko unhealthy insects then it will do nothing more than provide little or chitinin amounts of bulk to the gecko.

just incase i would go and take the gecko to an exotic vet that specialises in reptiles to get the eye checked because it still could be something different.

    good luck with your gecko.

Knowing how old your gecko is would help - as certain types and colours of gecko get older, they may lose spots (Hypo and Super Hypo are born with bands that break up into spots, and these spots fade and may eventually disappear).

But if his pupil is fully dilated on one side (so that the blackness you're seeing is *all* pupil) it sounds like he may have had a fall or even something like a seizure that has hurt him. It's best to take him to the vet to get checked up - even a completely blind gecko can have a long comfortable life in captivity, as long as it is hand-fed.
