Can anyone suggest a good place to find a reasonable list of items that you need to buy for your baby?

I am due for my first baby in December, and although I am fine in knowing what key large items to buy e.g. cot, moses basket, car seat etc. I can't seem to find a list that details the smaller things that will need e.g. X number of vests; nappies, cotton wool etc. I don't want to leave anything out, and my general plan is to just buy little bits like this with my food shop each time and store it up to save the later cost. Does anyone know a good website that would provide this or can anyone tell me that they found really crucial in those first few weeks and beyond? I would be very grateful. Many thanks. Kirsty x

Well I tended to find that nappies, wet wipes, baby bath wash/baby shampoo and baby moisteriser were the things that got used at an astronomical rate! Any baby toiletries basically. I used to go through an average 200ml bottle of baby wash every month and about the same size in baby moisturiser every 2 weeks. But then I coated our little one in moisteriser lol! Nappies varied on a daily basis depending on the amount of poos, sometimes 10 changes a day, sometimes double that.

Baby powder and nappy rash cream are other quickly used things as well.

I wouldn't worry too much about number of clothes/vests etc. You will find that your bub grows so quickly that you will end up with loads of clothes that only got worn once or twice.

If you plan to breastfeed, stock up on muslins as I used to go through these really quickly too - my little one used to do burp 'sicks' after every feed, so of course I'd use a clean one to cover myself at his next feed etc. I had about 20 and used at least 5 a day.

Can't think of anything else off the top of my head at the moment, all the best and congrats :)
