A Bald Eagle that was protecting a kill from some buzzards.I hate hitting anything but that one was really a drag.
Edit i forgot i hit a 19' Bayliner boat once. The guy went around the gate as it was starting down. The truck pulling it made it across. Now this part is funny. The guy told the police he stopped because the end of the crossing gate came down on his boat. He didn't want to scratch his new boat.We hit it going 60 mph. That thing disintegrated like a bomb had blew it up.Talk about a bad scratch lol.

I don't work on a railroad, but waiting for the subway once in NYC at the local station I saw an express train hit a roll of toilet paper, it looked new, with a rat having crawled into through the roll. It was kinda gross to watch.

Fortunately, the main things we have hit have been pheasants and dogs.
They may quite a mess.
Managed to catch a trespasser once where he got caught on the side of the train, that could have been very nasty. Slow speed meant he escaped with only minor injuries. He could have ended up under the wheels, which would have meant certain death.
Keep off the tracks!

Someone placed a toilet on the tracks once, and we hit it at about 50 mph, it exploded into a cloud of white powder. The nastiest was a wild hog that weighed about 300 lbs., it was like hitting a big balloon full of blood, it was on the knuckle, the steps, the front door, the windshield...it was everywhere.

Nothing weird I guess. In the winter time there are deer and turkeys that hang out on the tracks because the snow isn't as deep there. 99% of the time they get out of the way, but a few don't. After a heavy snow, trees fall over the rails a lot. I see wolves quite often, but they're always the first to get out of the way. That's about it - kinda boring.

I've hit a sofa. No idea how it got onto a crossing, but it was just there as I came around a curve. Just kids, I expect.
