My samsung instinct is not responding to its touch?

my dad is nosie and i have a feeling hes going to go through my texts and contacts i dnt have anything to hide buts just hes nosie..and i wana fix it on my own or take it to repairs...

the touch screen is not responding at all and i looked up some stuff and people said that if u clean between the screans itl work but it makes it worse... =/ what should i do or if im doing the screan cleaning wrong plz tell me how to do it step by step =] thnx

    Turn the power off, and take the battery out, put the battery back in and turn the device back on. That fixes alot of common cell phone problems! Good luck :)

    Call you're carrier like AT&T, verizon wireless, etc.
