Do any order-takers at SUBWAY speak English?

Everytime I purchase a sandwhich at one of those outlets, it seems as if the workers there don't understand what I'm saying. I have to do a lot of repeating and pointing. Do store owners require their help to speak English?

At all the locations in my town they all speak clear English and it doesn't matter what race or ethnicity they are. And we do have a diverse set of people in my town. I think it may have to do with them not hearing you since they are on the other side of a counter as you with a huge piece of glass between you two. Maybe you need to speak louder.

The guy at the Subway near Dam Square in the Netherlands spoke excellent English when I was there a few weeks ago. I've never had any trouble communicating with the employees in Denver or northern Virginia either.

They do where I live, because we wouldn't put up with it. I used to go to a place where the order takers barely spoke English. People stopped going there and the management was forced to make changes. If people stop going and let management know why, things will change.

They all have the toaster ovens and sometimes the other ovens turned on -all make it extremely difficult to hear. It's not the fault of the employee. It's that many people don't speak loud enough to hear over that.

Seems to me that one would need to speak English to hold a Public Facing job. But then, just because we speak it doesn't mean we understand it. Maybe these guys you speak of just need to brains!
