What is a good entry-level computer talent or certification to study?
I'd like to pursue employment in the computer field, but I'm far from an expert, and would be beginning from the bottom up. I wonder what talents or certifications would be most likely to get my foot in the door somewhere? There are so many specializations to choose from and I'm hoping somebody with more knowledge than me can throw out some ideas.
What will be in demand in the computer industry for years to come?
I would preferably spend no more than a couple years studying it, taking classes, and hope that by then I could get at least an entry-level position somewhere.
Thanks very much for any ideas.

I have worked in information technology for 12 years in a variety of settings (corporations, healthcare, private companies, etc)
Network Security is very in demand.
Here are a few certifications you should consider
A+ (http://www.comptia.org/certifications/listed/a.asp...
MCP (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certificat...
MCSE (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certificat...
CCNA (http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le0/le9/...
I have all of those, as well as a masters degree in Computer Science. However, I had my certifications before I had my bachelors.
Another thing to try to considering gaining considerable knowledge in is UNIX or AIX, good UNIX and AIX people are hard to find. The company I currently work for had an opening for an AIX administrator for about 6 months before we found anyone who was qualified for it.
