What's a good book to read between finishing a series and reading a new one?

I just finished Memory, Sorrow and Thorn by Tad Williams and I plan to start the Imagers Portfolio by L.E. Modessit Jr. next, but I think I'd like to take a break and read a book that won't take make me think.

I prefer to read non fantasy books for filler books, so maybe something along the lines of The Murderer's Daughters? Or any author similar to Jodi Picoult.
