As soon as possible, i would go into a travel agency as RTW fares have a lot of restrictions, as to airline you can use and far too many rare rules apply, as you know you can only go in one direction, only certain airlines can be used and there are certain amount of stops allowed for each fare. Also remember Autumn in the northern hemisphere is spring in the southern one so expect the NZ flight to be pretty full.
