A scalpel would do a good job with the cutting.Shaping is done using a heated wire

through which electricity passes too keep it glowing hot. This then fits into the jig for

job purpose and the job sits in the jig and the heated wire is pushed slowly through

the jig to the end and the finished shaped product is removed.

Source(s): Used to work in a small factory that produced foam products.

Yes, there are several. Sorry, don't know their names.

The main one is is an electric 'hot-wire' with about an 6-8" span used for sculpting.

Maybe you can ask in the YA- Arts- Sculpture section for a better answer.

I've reshaped seats using a hacksaw blade (they're flexible) and a large wood rasp or file used for shaping horse hooves.

A flexible blade, serrated bread knife makes a cheap effective tool for the job.
