What's wrong with correcting grammatical errors on the internet?

I see no issue with this, however some people get angry at me for correcting their mistakes.

I was even blocked by one YA! user just for pointing out that she forgot her "."

BQ: What's better to cool down on a summer day?

Swimming in the pool or Eating ice cream?

if the question is about a topic and you use their grammer mistakes to one up them then they have every right to get upset. You ignored the debate and instead insulted them with a meaningless problem. Then everyone aggrees and says the asker or person with grammer is stupid. People on here type fast and ignore grammer ans spelling. don't hold it against them

if you like correcting grammer here is a funny video.

The 'E' in eating should not be capitalized and the 'BQ' would be better phrased: "Which of the following ways is most effective in cooling down on a summer day: swimming in the pool or eating ice cream?"

Source(s): ^ That's why it's annoying. If people were writing a paper for class they would focus much more on having proper grammar, but it is not entirely necessary to have perfect grammar on Yahoo! Answers and people don't want to constantly be corrected for making minor mistakes.

Nothing, quite honestly. You would think they would appreciate the constructive criticism... I know I like to have my grammatical mistakes pointed out. In that way, I do not make the same mistake again.

And I don't see how it is possible (besides sheer laziness) to have such horrible spelling on a program with SPELL CHECKER.

    BQ: Pool, for sure.

People must enjoy spelling like three year olds. I agree with you, I do it all the time.

BQ: Swimming in the pool, of course. Too bad I don't have one.

  • because I don't really see what the big deal is i understand people have grammar issues but i feel like people shouldn't have to bring it up i don't get angry i just find it annoying it was a simple little mistake not a big one.

Because it's not really a big deal is it?

Even though you may only be helping, others can take it in a sensitive way.

    BQ; both please.
