Are Redsox/Yankee fans?

Im a die hard Redsox fan. I live about an hour or so away from Boston. I was in California one time and I went to a Redsox/Angel game. I was talking to people and they were like we're hue Redsox fans or we're huge Yankees fans. I was thinking, they're in California and they like one of those 2 teams. Do you think the majority Redsox/Yankees fan that live no where near New York or Boston are bandwagon fans?

Update:

@Izzat-well you were born in NY, these people were born and lived in Califronia their whole lives. I don't blame you for still liking your team..

No way! Ouch, I can't help but find this a LITTLE offensive. I was born here in California and I've lived here all my life. Am I a bandwagoner? Hell no.

So, my greatgrandparents came from Italy and settled in the Boston area. My grandparents were born and met, and my mom, uncle, and aunt were born. My mother grew up in the Boston area. Came to CA fro college and met my dad. They moved back to the Boston area, but while searching for a job, found the best suited one in CA. A few years later, I was born. They had a house and we have lived here since. But Boston is my favorite place in the world. My uncle and cousins live near there, as do my grandparents.

I grew up with the Red Sox games around me. I remember being about 6 years old and hearing the name 'Mike Timlin' for the first time. I remember being thrilled whenever he stepped on the mound, even though he wasn't the BEST pitcher. I remember being 8 and my mother stressing out against the Yankees during the 2004 ALCS.

In 2008, I started playing softball. After school, everyday that they played at 4 PM [PT], I would watch and see how Coco Crisp would field. I played center that season and I wanted to learn. I learned how to play softball from Crisp. May 24, 2008 I went to my 1st sox game ever. We were in Oakland and sat in LF, where Jacoby Ellsbury was playing. We only got one-hit and Beckett got the loss, but it is one of my favorite memories of my entire life so far.

I get into Red Sox games more than any Giants fan out here that I know.

There will be bandwagoners scattered everywhere, but I wouldn't assume most are just because they live in places like California. Everyone has their story.

    PS: sorry for loooong response.

All I got from this is if you are NOT born in the state from the team you root for you are a bandwagon fan. Really .. Well last time I checked I don't have to be born In New York to be a true Yankee Fan. Unless some one can bring me a book stating that then I will take my words back til then . I could give a **** =]

I live in Cleveland right now but I was born in New York and lived their for a lot of my life which is why I'm a yankees fan but most people i would say are bandwagon fans because they like the front runners and don't care to watch their team lose.

  • You don't have to live in a place to be a fan. Some places have no team. I was born in Tampa and the only closest NBA team was the Magic. I've never liked the Magic and never will. Same for baseball, before Tampa had a baseball team I rooted for Braves. Because my father lives in Atlanta and I'd always visit and we'd go to Braves games.

it depends on their background my family is from new york and we were raised as yankee fans. The thing is that we were born in california. but i would agree that people around here are bandwagoners and gawk and gaze at the east coast teams because of their success in the the last decade.

Yea most (not all) of them probably are bandwagon fans. Let another team, like maybe the Astros or Mariners, start winning for a while and all of a sudden you'll see lots of Astros or Mariners fans all over the country.

No,i don't care where the fans are from,i just want them to know enough about the team and show passion towards that team enough to be a respectful fan of that team.
