Afghanistan cannot be conquered. The graveyard of empires?

Strcitly speaking, lets not say it cannot be conquered. Its just that a lot have tried and failed utterly and miserably, regardless of the power and means they brought. And we are talking Superpowers...so-called super-powers...as you mentioned, Alexander The "Great", The British, The Soviet Union...Read their stories and you will be absolutely amazed...eg, in one battle, only one British soldier was spared, so he could go and tell the others his story of what they had suffered....!!

But this location, its surrounds, seems to have a very important role to play in the Last Days...which we are living, as we are the last ummaah/nation in the creation of humanity on Earth by God...and our Prophet is the last Prophet, upon whom be peace.

@ Jake, read history you are so ignorant . Muslims didn't force afghans to convert to islam. The Afghans converted themselves.

Indonesia is a perfect example, it has the most religious muslims and no muslim army ever went there.

btw Spain was conquered by muslims, but unlike how Christians had all the natives in the Americas converted to christianity . the muslims didn't have the Eruopeans converted, look at spain today its been majority christian as it has always been. if Muslims had forced conversion all islam would have been predominant religion in Spain.

btw every empire that did conquer Afghan , always ended up crumbling after conquering it for a lil while. its the graveyard because every empire fell afterwards .

The American Empire's fate will not be any different. The question to ask is "When will the American Empire and their NATO puppets realize that they are fighting an unwinnable war against an enemy so large that it would take the annihilation of the Pashtun people to stop?" How will bombs pacify the Afghans, and more importantly, why should they have to be pacified and turned into an appendage of the United States? Who do we think they are, Israel?

I agree; but I don't think the Us or the United Nations want to conquer Afghanistan; their aim is to bring peace and prosperity to the country. This could be achieved only if Muslim fanatics there are are defeated which now seems impossible. You can't conquer tradition.

I suggest that all peace loving Afghan should be given refuge in a foreign country and leave the Taliban to fight against the Mountains and valleys of Afghanistan.

The world simply don't know the fact that Pathans Or Pastuns are a martial race.

No doubt westerns have technology but what matters at the most is, man behind the gun not the gun itself.

Afghanistan is called 'graveyard of empires' because no FOREIGN conquering empire managed to subdue the Afghan people (i.e. destroy their culture etc) but the land is in fact one of the most conquered lands in Asia.

Afghanistan was conquered by Greco-Bactrians, Kushans, Indo-Sassanids, Kabul Shahi, Saffarids, Samanids, Ghaznavids, Ghurids, Kartids, Timurids and Mughals before it finally came to subject of the native Pashtuns under the Hotaki dynasty.
