Digital camera problem?

Why does a Canon dig, Camera show "Memory Card Locked" and "Faulty memory Card" when it's not locked or faulty as it works OK in all other cameras. Canon want $AU 237 to fix it, it's only just 3 years old and hasn't been fiddled with or dropped. I think there maybe a makers fault because I read of so many Canon cameras with the same problem world wide but I cannot get a satisfactory reply or repair method.TIA..

    Have you reset the camera?

Try cleaning the contacts on the card. A pencil eraser works wonders at removing any slight film of corrosion or finger grease that might be there. At the tiny voltages used, both are excellent insulators and can cause the camera to mis-read information.
