How do I treat this burn?
I was cooking a pizza at 200 C. I opened the door, did not have gloves on and put the cool pan at the edge of the oven rack whilst I got tongues to get the pizza onto the tray. Somewhere in here I hit my hand on the oven door. I ran water over it, I have soaked it in ice, it is red and it hurts after 2 hours. Suggestions for treatment?

It will eventually go away, but sadly, you're just going to have to live with it for a couple of hours. Just keep soaking it in ice water to take the pain away while it heals. If if helps, take some ibuprofen, just don't overuse it. If the pain comes into your mind, just think about something else.
Hope I helped
edit: actually it may be more than a couple of hours... but at least the pain will become subdued over the course of the next few days (at longest.)

If possible cover the area with cling film, It's the air on the burn that causes the pain covering with cling film and making it air tight helps. Also keep the area cold to reduce further damage to the skin tissues. The essential oil of Lavender is good for burns reduces pain and scaring. Go and see a pharmacist tomorrow at a chemist if no better, they can prescribe some cream or if they think it is needed suggest you see a doctor etc

Just keep it running under cold water until it feels numb, but there's not that much you can do really. Don't try to cover it with anything though because that only makes it worse. If it blisters then you might want to see a doctor and they can apply some cream I think. If it starts to hurt again then run it under the cold water or bathe it in ice like you have done. Hope your hand gets better soon.
