Most people underestimate Terry Funk and don't know that he started his career (and won the NWA World Title) as a "technical wrestler"; he wasn't always the guy getting blown up in Japan or getting wrapped up in barbed-wire while waving a flaming branding iron. While Dory Jr was the better of the two brothers as a "technical wrestler" (and Terry is the first to say so), Terry was no slouch in that department. Lou Thesz was in the "A" Team of "technical wrestlers". Dory Jr is on that team, too. Terry is not.
As a legitimate "technical wrestler", Thesz was much better than Terry.
In every other department (showman, brawler, promos, charisma, etc) Terry was better than Thesz.
