Would a blue go nice with lilac?

I'm getting married next June and my theme color is Lilac. Do you think a blue would look nice with lilac and what type of blue.

Update:

I was thinking of a marine blue, do you think it's too dark?

lilac has a blue base so really it shouldn't be paired with blue... technically they clash. but if you really love it im sure you could make it work. it would be easier to match it to a dark dark navy than any other blue. If the blue is really dark and the purple is really light then it should turn out very beautiful in spite of silly wedding fashion norms.

what about lilac and eggplant, or lilac and pale yellow?

EDIT: If you mean David's Bridal Marine, then yes. It would look great. I was in a wedding where I wore that color dress and the bouquets (which were supposed to be blue) were accidentally made purple, and looking back at the photos it still looked good!

I like the idea of either a pale blue or navy. It depends on what type of feeling you are going for.

A pale blue would be very calming and pretty. It would look great mixed with other pastels as well. The overall feeling would be very romantic and ethereal.

Navy would be great for a modern look. What is nice about navy is that it is a traditional color, but it is not often used at weddings which makes it stand out. Obviously, you cannot find navy flowers, but navy is great for bridesmaid dresses and works well as an ink color since stands off of white (or lilac!) paper very well and can still be read easily.

Hope this helps and congrats on your engagement!

I think hydrangea blue would go very well with lilac. See picture as hydrangeas come in different colors:
